REAP and HSAP are two different research opportunities for high school students in grades 9-12 who are interested in STEM fields.
The Research & Engineering Apprenticeship Program (REAP) is a summer STEM program that places high school students (grades 9-12), from groups historically under-represented and underserved in STEM, in research apprenticeships at area colleges. Students work one-on-one with a university mentor on a research project throughout the summer. Apprenticeships are 5 to 8 weeks and students receive a $1,500 education stipend.
The High School Research Apprenticeship Program (HSAP) is a summer STEM program open to all high school juniors and seniors. Students work as an apprentice in an army-funded university research lab. HSAP is designed so students can apprentice full-time during the summer or part-time during the school year. Students receive an educational stipend equivalent to $10 per hour.
